SPRINGBOK TO ICON: AKONA NDUNGANE SET FOR FANCOURT SHOWDOWN

Celebrated throughout his rugby career for his explosive pace, finishing prowess, and crucial role in the Bulls' Super Rugby dynasty, 2007 World Cup winner Akona Ndungane is officially making his debut for Team South Africa on the fairways. A dedicated golfer who has channeled his athletic focus into the game, Ndungane plays off a solid single-figure 5 handicap.

Known for his cool composure under pressure and sharp athletic instincts, Ndungane brings elite match-play grit and strong team camaraderie to captain Ernie Els's host-nation locker room.

His inclusion adds even greater depth to Team SA’s rugby contingent at The Links at Fancourt, reuniting him with former Springbok World Cup teammates Fourie du Preez, Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger, Schalk Brits, and Butch James, alongside Proteas cricket greats AB de Villiers, Shaun Pollock, Vernon Philander, Chris Morris, and Herschelle Gibbs, Olympic swimming champion Roland Schoeman, and football icon Jimmy Tau.
