Daniel John “Danny” Willett (born 3 October 1987 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England) is a professional golfer who competes primarily on the European (DP World) Tour. He enjoyed a standout amateur career, winning the English Amateur Championship in 2007 and representing Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup; by 2008 he was ranked the world’s No. 1 amateur before turning professional later that year.

Willett earned his European Tour card for the 2009 season and recorded his first Tour victory at the 2012 BMW International Open. Over the ensuing years he became one of Europe’s most consistent players, earning multiple European Tour titles.

His career’s defining moment came in April 2016 when he won the Masters Tournament at Augusta National — his first major championship — becoming only the second Englishman to claim the Green Jacket and the first European winner there in 17 years.
