DWIGHT YORKE CONFIRMED TO RETURN FOR TEAM WORLD AT ICONS CUP SOUTH AFRICA

Former Manchester United striker and Treble winner Dwight Yorke is officially returning to the Icons Series, joining José María Olazábal’s Team World as they prepare to take on Team South Africa at The Links at Fancourt this December.

A fan favorite and proven competitor on the fairways, Yorke brings elite big-match composure, charisma, and a sharp golf game to Olazábal’s international roster. Famous for his clinical finishing during Manchester United’s iconic 1998/99 Treble season, the Trinidadian icon is no stranger to high-stakes team competition and inside-the-ropes pressure of Icons Series events. 

Yorke’s return adds crucial firepower to a Team World lineup that already features former Chelsea captain John Terry, West Indian cricket legend Brian Lara, and three-time tennis Grand Slam champion Ash Barty.

With Ernie Els’s Team South Africa building a formidable home squad featuring AB de Villiers, Fourie du Preez, Butch James, and Vernon Philander, Yorke’s experience will be vital as Team World looks to spoil the party in George from 11–13 December 2026.
