

Thomas Bjørn (born 18 February 1971 in Copenhagen, Denmark) is a professional golfer and one of the most successful players in European Tour history. Turning professional in 1993, Bjørn went on to win 15 European Tour titles, making him one of Denmark’s most accomplished golfers.
Although he never won a major championship, Bjørn came close on several occasions, most notably at The Open Championship in 2003. He was widely respected for his consistency, longevity, and competitiveness at the highest level of the game.
Bjørn played a major role in team golf, representing Europe in five Ryder Cups (1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2014) and later serving as Europe’s Ryder Cup captain in 2018, leading the team to a dominant victory over the United States in Paris.
